History
FreedPer Scientific, registered as FreedPer Investments Private Limited in 2019 in Zimbabwe, officially launched in 2022 at Gateway Primary School. The launch coincided with a training session on using meteorological instruments and the handover of a weather station to the school. However, our journey began much earlier. From 2013 to 2018, we operated under the banner of Earlycap Enterprises Pvt Ltd, providing meteorological equipment to businesses in diverse sectors such as mining, energy, academia, and agriculture.

During this period, we serviced notable clients including Zimplats, Zimbabwe’s largest platinum miner; the UNDP and Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate; Chisipite Senior School; Farai Primary School; and the Zimbabwe Sugar Association Experiment Station (ZSAES).

Our first milestone project was in 2013 when we installed a standard weather station at Chiredzi Primary School. This project, undertaken without prior trade references, showcased our commitment and capability. Located in the hot town of Chiredzi, 440km (273 miles) south of Harare, the school was equipped with a Stevenson screen, raingauge, measuring cylinder, cup anemometer, wind vane, hygrometer, and Six’s thermometer. A decade later, the instruments remain functional, reflecting the durability of our products.

Since then, FreedPer Scientific has revolutionized Zimbabwe’s meteorological industry. We introduced the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) standard 127mm brass ring rain gauge, manufactured with durable fiberglass material, into the local market. Our growth has been further bolstered by distributorship agreements with global leaders in meteorological and hydrological instrument manufacturing. Today, we proudly export across Sub-Saharan Africa, expanding our impact on the region’s meteorological and hydrological capabilities.
