Freedom is a serial entrepreneur who founded FreedPer Scientific. In addition to this venture, he co-founded Madanha Farm, Hozi Innovator and many other profitable businesses with national and regional presence. Freedom is the current Chairperson of the Communications Committee of the African Meteorological Association and a member of the International Leadership Association. Prior to his entrepreneurial journey, Freedom worked in the capacities of a Meteorological Technician and International Relations Officer for the Zimbabwe Meteorological Services Department. In the former role he worked as weather observer in Climate, Agro-meteorology and Aeronautical Meteorology stations. In addition, he worked as an assistant weather forecaster and climate data quality controller. In the later role he served as the International Advisor (INTAD) to the Permanent Representative of Zimbabwe to the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) and represented Zimbabwe on International platforms. He was also the Interim Coordinator of all INTADS in the WMO Regional Association 1 commonly 'Africa'. Freedom also served in the Meteorological Services Fund Board as secretary to the board and member of the resource mobilization committee of the Board.

 

Freedom is an alumnus of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders and was a Reserve Candidate for the Chevening Scholarship in 2022. He holds a Post Grad Certificate in Entrepreneurship from the University of Iowa in the United States of America, a Master of Business Administration specializing in Finance from the University of Zimbabwe a Degree in Business Management from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST)-Zimbabwe and a diploma in Development and Disaster Management from NUST. In addition, he holds a number of professional certificates attained from various institutes across the world. A few notable courses he undertook include the WMO Public-Private Engagement (PPE) in Weather, Climate and Water Services, Project Management, Digital Marketing, Quality Management Systems ISO 9001: 2015, and the Global Framework for Climate Services training program.

 

His goal is to promote weather observations, collection and analysis of meteorological, hydrological and climatological data  at all levels to help communities better understand our changing climate.
